WorkRecords does not verify worker names and SSNs with the Social Security Number Verification (SSNV) service.  This responsibility is reserved for the worker's employer.

If a Labor Supplier enters a new worker and receives a message that the SSN is already associated with a different name in the system, follow these steps:

  1. Verify the SSN and Name:
The new Labor Supplier must use the SSNV service to confirm the worker's name and SSN match.

  2. Report the Conflict:
If the new Labor Supplier confirms a match, they should contact WorkRecords Support to report the conflict and report that verification from the SSNV service was completed.

  3. WorkRecords Contacts the Initial Labor Supplier:
WorkRecords Support will notify the first Labor Supplier, requesting them to verify their worker's SSN and provide the correct information.

  4. Update the Records:
WorkRecords Support will update the initial worker's details with the correct SSN. Once updated, the new Labor Supplier can proceed with entering their worker’s information.

This process may take several days to resolve. In the meantime, you can use a holding number to create a new worker profile.

  • Provide the Holding Number: Make sure to give the holding number to your worker so they can create their WorkConnect account.
  • Update the Profile: Once the issue is resolved and the profile is updated, the worker may need to log out and log back into their WorkConnect account to regain access.
